Associate Director, Paid Media

Are you both a creative and quantitative thinker? As an Associate Director, Paid Media, you’ll lead media planning and measurement for top tier brands. This role presents an outstanding opportunity to build and manage critical relationships, be a platform and product expert, serve as a trusted adviser in digital marketing and advertising. You’ll work directly and autonomously with account management and clients to provide the strategic direction of client media campaigns. This role will be responsible for leading a team of digital analysts (including ROI metrics and SEM) and media planners toward the development of strategic recommendations. The ideal candidate will be able to present to account teams and clients, analyze and simplify complex data for insights, contribute to the career growth of junior team members, and identify and negotiate with media vendors. Additionally, there needs to be a constant curiosity to stay ahead of a changing and complex marketplace, and an understanding of how these changes will impact client objectives.

What does a great Associate Director, Paid Media do?

  • In partnership with account services, analyze client situations and devise integrated marketing and advertising strategies optimally incorporating TMP’s solutions to maximize client value
  • Use data, insights and market intelligence to identify opportunities and guide strategy and implementation of TMP solutions
  • Serve as external product consultant educating clients on product solutions and driving product adoption
  • Plan media and creative structure and oversee the implementation of campaigns to deliver against client recruitment objectives
  • Outline and oversee measurement scheme, tracking, and results to study the effectiveness of TMP solutions and programmatic media
  • Oversee budget spend, manage analytics and dashboards, and provide optimization and product and media recommendations
  • Guide media and creative strategy, planning, and implementation of campaigns to deliver against KPIs
  • Collaborate with account service teams to exceed sales and yield goals for your assigned book of business
  • Manage complex external and internal workstreams, and optimize clients’ software and advertising operation mode to meet business objectives
  • Oversee internal account operations (e.g., troubleshooting and fixing issues, monitoring and setting up account and financial details, etc.)
  • Collaborate very closely with a diverse group of internal cross-functional teams and cross-region counterparts
  • Manage a team consisting of Media Planners and Analysts to support client’s media/web/social/mobile objectives 

Requirements for Consideration

  • Approximately 3-5 years of experience with online media planning and web/media analytics and reporting
  • Experience using comScore or similar research tools and 3rd party ad serving technology (i.e., DoubleClick)
  • Google Analytics certification or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of social metrics (i.e., Facebook & YouTube insights)
  • Critical thinker who can present complex concepts, media recommendations and data results in a clear and compelling manner
  • Practical and creative problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining strict attention to details
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate and work effectively on a team
  • Ability to confidently present to build ongoing relationships with external clients
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data analysis
  • High intellectual curiosity and hunger to learn in an ambiguous environment 
  • Aptitude to gain new and complex systems quickly
