Between July 22-26, the National Association for Healthcare Recruitment's (NAHCR's) 34th Annual Image Conference took place in Orlando, Florida. NAHCR, an organization promoting and sharing sound and ethical principles of professional recruitment for healthcare professionals, has more than 1,050 members nationwide. Members include nurses, allied health professionals, physician recruiters and human resource professionals who work in hospitals, home care, long-term care, rehabilitation facilities, HMOs, schools of nursing and the military.
TMP's Greta Sherman, Senior Vice President, Strategic Planning, Healthcare, led a one-and-a-half day workshop titled, "Take Recruitment and Retention to the Next Level," where she shared her experience, strategic insight and best practices in healthcare recruitment with 70 attendees at NAHCR's Advanced Recruiter Workshop. In addition, Steven Ehrlich, Vice President, Client Development, and Sheila Spinner, Vice President, Business Development, Healthcare joined Greta and presented innovative solutions for building successful career websites and for using emerging media to target Generation Y and the Millennials, respectively. The workshop focused on how healthcare retention and recruitment function on a daily basis, as well as how recruiters and Human Resource leaders can face the increasingly demanding challenges of the healthcare industry.
On Tuesday night, our clients and guests joined us for an evening of fun, food and entertainment at a "Casino Night" reception. And later in the week, following the conference workshop, NAHCR attendees visited our booth to better understand strategies for social networking and enter a drawing for a Flip camera. At the booth, TMP Professionals helped conference attendees create their own Facebook pages in order to learn how to tailor their personal experiences to fit their professional needs. As a result, they are now members of the TMP Healthcare network and are able to connect professionally.
