On Friday, March 18, Steve Ehrlich, TMP's Global Vice President of Client Development, served as a panelist at a breakfast event hosted by the Five O'Clock Club in New York. The event titled How Social Media Affects HR: Uses, Abuses and Self-Protection attracted a full house of HR professionals. Steve was joined on the panel by Jim Flynn, social media legal expert and a member of the Litigation and Labor and Employment Practices of the national law firm of EpsteinBeckerGreen as well as by Sien Avalos, Enterprise Compliance Manager for Becton Dickinson.

The conversation touched upon the reality of employees being tuned into social media all day and how employers can leverage social media properly. The attendees were encouraged to take part in the discussions that were occurring online about their companies. Legal ramifications and the need for corporate social media policies were also discussed.

The audience was very engaged and showed a real enthusiasm for the topic. Many were tweeting about the event while it was going on and even sending tweets directly to the panelists. It was a true social media breakfast!
